Walk Church 27th February 2022
The sun was dazzling, and from the top of the downs we had clear views to the Thames estuary but also Dungeness power station and the Romney Marsh wind farm. But our mood was sombre as we remembered and prayed for the people of Ukraine, and the knock on implications of this brutal invasion. So our route passing the war memorial cross above Lenham, was a good moment to pray and remember for all victims of this needless conflict.
It was the last Sunday before Lent, and the Gospel recounted the Transfiguration of Christ, we celebrated and remembered the Jesus’ determination from this moment to make that journey to Jerusalem, and the cross, which ultimately gives us the basis of our confidence of our faith that somehow love will win through.
Next Walk Church 27th March 2022 – which happens also to be Mothering Sunday. Hope to see you then.
