Walk Church Sunday, 24th April – Westwell
It is hard to pin down exactly how or why a walk in fellowship with others can lift your spirits so much. The sun was bright, and with green virgin leaves, and lambs in the fields all around we could see spring bursting upon us. But there was a biting northerly wind throughout the afternoon that made it hard to keep warm. We were a relatively small group of 8, walking and reflecting on the experience of the two downcast disciples walking away from Jerusalem to Emmaus.
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised how much we were encouraged. “Were not our hearts burning within us while he [Jesus] was talking to us on the road” said the disciples to each other. We found our hearts had been lifted and warmed by the fellowship we shared.
