Walk Church that was – Sunday 27th August 2023
Clinging to the side of a standstone rock face was this beech tree with its gnarled root system securing it too the cliff. It gave us an opportunity to reflect, and to conjuror a number of faith metaphors. Like this one: our faith which may not have the foundations we’d want it to have, but God is still able to bless it and help us to overcome seemingly impossible challenges.
This month we were no longer walking among a profusion of wild flowers, but amid a rich abundance of sweet smelling fruit. The blackberries, a sign of the turning of the seasons, are particularly plentiful this year.
At the end of our pilgrimage we were very grateful to Diane and Tim Bentley who organised the tea and cake.
